The Thamud (people) rejected the messengers. |
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ الْمُرْسَلِينَ |
3 073 |

26/142 |
Behold, their brother Salih said to them: "Will you not fear (Allah)? |
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ صَالِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ |
3 074 |
|
26/143 |
I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. |
إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ |
3 075 |
|
26/144 |
So fear Allah, and obey me. |
فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ |
3 076 |
|
26/145 |
No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. |
وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ |

Will ye be left secure, in (the enjoyment of) all that ye have here?- |
أَتُتْرَكُونَ فِي مَا هَاهُنَا آمِنِينَ |

26/147 |
Gardens and Springs, |
فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ |
3 079 |
|
26/148 |
And corn-fields and date-palms with spathes near breaking (with the weight of fruit)? |
وَزُرُوعٍ وَنَخْلٍ طَلْعُهَا هَضِيمٌ |
3 080 |
|
26/149 |
And ye carve houses out of (rocky) mountains with great skill. |
وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا فَارِهِينَ |
3 081 |
|
26/150 |
But fear Allah and obey me; |
فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ |
3 082 |
|
26/151 |
And follow not the bidding of those who are extravagant,- |
وَلَا تُطِيعُوا أَمْرَ الْمُسْرِفِينَ |
3 083 |
|
26/152 |
Who make mischief in the land, and mend not (their ways). |
الَّذِينَ يُفْسِدُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ |
3 084 |
|
26/153 |
They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! |
قَالُوا إِنَّمَا أَنتَ مِنَ الْمُسَحَّرِينَ |
3 085 |
|
26/154 |
Thou art no more than a mortal like us: then bring us a Sign, if thou tellest the truth! |
مَا أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا فَأْتِ بِآيَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ |

He said: "Here is a she-camel: she has a right of watering, and ye have a right of watering, (severally) on a day appointed. |
قَالَ هَٰذِهِ نَاقَةٌ لَّهَا شِرْبٌ وَلَكُمْ شِرْبُ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ |

26/156 |
Touch her not with harm, lest the Penalty of a Great Day seize you. |
وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ |
3 088 |
|
26/157 |
But they ham-strung her: then did they become full of regrets. |
فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا نَادِمِينَ |
3 089 |
|
26/158 |
But the Penalty seized them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. |
فَأَخَذَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ |

And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. |
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ |
3 091 |
|
26/160 |
The people of Lut rejected the messengers. |
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ الْمُرْسَلِينَ |

26/161 |
Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? |
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ |

|
26/162 |

Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, |
أَتَأْتُونَ الذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ الْعَالَمِينَ |

|
26/166 |
And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)! |
وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَاجِكُم ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ |

26/167 |
They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" |
قَالُوا لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَا لُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمُخْرَجِينَ |
3 099 |
|
26/168 |
He said: "I do detest your doings." |
قَالَ إِنِّي لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ الْقَالِينَ |
3 100 |
|
26/169 |
O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do! |
رَبِّ نَجِّنِي وَأَهْلِي مِمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ |
3 101 |
|
26/170 |
So We delivered him and his family,- all |
فَنَجَّيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ أَجْمَعِينَ |
3 102 |
|
26/171 |
Except an old woman who lingered behind. |
إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِي الْغَابِرِينَ |
3 103 |
|
26/172 |
But the rest We destroyed utterly. |
ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا الْآخَرِينَ |
3 104 |
