Bir çift öküz alıp parçaladı. Ulaklar aracılığıyla İsrailin her bölgesine bu parçaları gönderip şöyle dedi: "Saul ile Samuelin ardınca gelmeyen herkesin öküzlerine de aynı şey yapılacaktır." Halk RAB korkusuyla sarsıldı ve tek beden halinde yola çıktı.

فاخذ فدان بقر وقطّعه وارسل الى كل تخوم اسرائيل بيد الرسل قائلا من لا يخرج وراء شاول ووراء صموئيل فهكذا يفعل ببقره. فوقع رعب الرب على الشعب فخرجوا كرجل واحد.

İngilizce:

And he took a yoke of oxen, and hewed them in pieces, and sent them throughout all the coasts of Israel by the hands of messengers, saying, Whosoever cometh not forth after Saul and after Samuel, so shall it be done unto his oxen. And the fear of the LORD fell on the people, and they came out with one consent.

Und nahm ein Paar Ochsen und zerstückte sie und sandte in alle Grenzen Israels durch die Boten und ließ sagen: Wer nicht auszeucht, Saul und Samuel nach, des Rindern soll man also tun. Da fiel die Furcht des HERRN auf das Volk, daß sie auszogen, gleich als ein einiger Mann.

and he taketh a couple of oxen, and cutteth them in pieces, and sendeth through all the border of Israel, by the hand of the messengers, saying, 'He who is not coming out after Saul and after Samuel — thus it is done to his oxen;' and the fear of Jehovah falleth on the people, and they come out as one man.
