Karılarının başka ilahlara buhur yaktığını bilen erkekler, orada duran kadınlar, Mısırın Patros bölgesinde yaşayan bütün halk -ki büyük bir topluluktu- Yeremyaya şu karşılığı verdi:

فاجاب ارميا كل الرجال الذين عرفوا ان نساءهم يبخّرن لآلهة اخرى وكل النساء الواقفات محفل كبير وكل الشعب الساكن في ارض مصر في فتروس قائلين

Then all the men which knew that their wives had burned incense unto other gods, and all the women that stood by, a great multitude, even all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,

Cependant tous les hommes qui savaient que leurs femmes faisaient des encensements à d'autres dieux, et toutes les femmes qui se tenaient là en grand nombre, et tout le peuple qui demeurait au pays d'Égypte, à Pathros, répondirent à Jérémie, en disant:
