فقام الملك ليلا وقال لعبيده لاخبرنّكم ما فعل لنا الاراميون. علموا اننا جياع فخرجوا من المحلّة ليختبئوا في حقل قائلين اذا خرجوا من المدينة قبضنا عليهم احياء ودخلنا المدينة.

İngilizce: 

And the king arose in the night, and said unto his servants, I will now shew you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we be hungry; therefore are they gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, When they come out of the city, we shall catch them alive, and get into the city.

Et le roi se leva de nuit et dit à ses serviteurs: Je vais vous dire ce que les Syriens nous ont fait. Ils savent que nous sommes affamés. Ils seront donc sortis du camp pour se cacher dans la campagne, disant: Quand ils seront sortis de la ville, nous les prendrons vifs, et nous entrerons dans la ville.

Und der König stand auf in der Nacht und sprach zu seinen Knechten: Laßt euch sagen, wie die Syrer mit uns umgehen.
