Ülke halkı gidip Baalın tapınağını yıktı. Sunaklarını, putlarını parçaladılar; Baalın Kâhini Mattanı da sunakların önünde öldürdüler. Kâhin Yehoyada RABbin Tapınağına nöbetçiler yerleştirdi.

ودخل جميع شعب الارض الى بيت البعل وهدموا مذابحه وكسروا تماثيله تماما وقتلوا متّان كاهن البعل امام المذبح. وجعل الكاهن نظّارا على بيت الرب.
