Bunun üzerine Davut yanındaki altı yüz kişiyle yola çıktı. Besor Vadisine geldiler. Vadiyi geçemeyecek kadar bitkin düşen iki yüz kişi orada kaldı. Davut dört yüz kişiyle akıncıları kovalamayı sürdürdü.
