Onları karşılamaya çıkan Davut şöyle dedi: "Eğer bana yardım etmek için esenlikle geldiyseniz, buyrun bize katılın. Ama ben haksızlık yapmamışken beni düşmanlarımın eline teslim etmeye geldiyseniz, atalarımızın Tanrısı bunu görsün ve sizi yargılasın."

فخرج داود لاستقبالهم واجاب وقال لهم ان كنتم قد جئتم بسلام اليّ لتساعدوني يكون لي معكم قلب واحد. وان كان لكي تدفعوني لعدوّي ولا ظلم في يدي فلينظر اله آبائنا وينصف.

İngilizce:

And David went out to meet them, and answered and said unto them, If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me, mine heart shall be knit unto you: but if ye be come to betray me to mine enemies, seeing there is no wrong in mine hands, the God of our fathers look thereon, and rebuke it.
