Bunun üzerine krala gidip çıkardığı yasayla ilgili şunları söylediler: "Ey kral, kim otuz gün içinde senden başka bir insana ya da ilaha dua ederse, aslan çukuruna atılsın diye yasa imzalamadın mı?" Kral, "Medlerle Perslerin değişmez yasası uyarınca çıkardığım yasa geçerlidir" diye karşılık verdi.

فتقدموا وتكلموا قدام الملك في نهي الملك. ألم تمض ايها الملك نهيا بان كل انسان يطلب من اله او انسان حتى ثلاثين يوما الا منك ايها الملك يطرح في جب الأسود. فاجاب الملك وقال الامر صحيح كشريعة مادي وفارس التي لا تنسخ.
