Davut Filistlilerle birlikte Saula karşı savaşmaya gidince, Manaşşe oymağından da bazı kişiler onun yanına geçtiler. Ne var ki Davutla adamları Filistlilere yardım etmediler. Çünkü Filist beyleri birbirlerine danışıp, "Davut efendisi Saula dönerse başımızdan oluruz" diyerek onu geri göndermişlerdi.

وسقط الى داود بعض من منسّى حين جاء مع الفلسطينيين ضد شاول للقتال ولم يساعدوهم. لان اقطاب الفلسطينيين ارسلوه بمشورة قائلين انما برؤوسنا يسقط الى سيده شاول.

And there fell some of Manasseh to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle: but they helped them not: for the lords of the Philistines upon advisement sent him away, saying, He will fall to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads.
