Asanın Yahudalılarla Benyaminlilerden oluşan bir ordusu vardı. Yahudalılar büyük kalkan ve mızraklarla donanmış üç yüz bin kişiydi. Benyaminliler ise küçük kalkan ve yay taşıyan iki yüz seksen bin kişiydi. Bunların hepsi yiğit savaşçılardı.
