Ülkede yaşayan halka de ki, 'Egemen RAB İsrail ve Yeruşalimde yaşayanlar için şöyle diyor: Yiyeceklerini umutsuzluk içinde yiyecek, sularını şaşkınlık içinde içecekler. Orada yaşayanların yaptığı zorbalık yüzünden ülke ıssız bırakılacak.

وقل لشعب الارض. هكذا قال السيد الرب على سكان اورشليم في ارض اسرائيل يأكلون خبزهم بالغمّ ويشربون ماءهم بحيرة لكي تخرب ارضها عن ملئها من ظلم كل الساكنين فيها.

And say unto the people of the land, Thus saith the Lord GOD of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and of the land of Israel; They shall eat their bread with carefulness, and drink their water with astonishment, that her land may be desolate from all that is therein, because of the violence of all them that dwell therein.

Et tu diras au peuple du pays: Ainsi a dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel, au sujet des habitants de Jérusalem, dans la terre d'Israël: Ils mangeront leur pain avec chagrin et boiront leur eau avec frayeur, parce que le pays sera dévasté et dépouillé de son abondance, à cause de la violence de tous ceux qui l'habitent.
