Bunun üzerine Davut Yeruşalimde kendisiyle birlikte olan bütün görevlilerine şöyle dedi: "Haydi kaçalım! Yoksa Avşalomdan kaçıp kurtulamayacağız. Hemen gidelim! Yoksa Avşalom ardımızdan çabucak yetişip bizi yıkıma uğratır. Kenti de kılıçtan geçirir."

فقال داود لجميع عبيده الذين معه في اورشليم قوموا بنا نهرب لانه ليس لنا نجاة من وجه ابشالوم. اسرعوا للذهاب لئلا يبادر ويدركنا وينزل بنا الشر ويضرب المدينة بحد السيف.

İngilizce: 

And David said unto all his servants that were with him at Jerusalem, Arise, and let us flee; for we shall not else escape from Absalom: make speed to depart, lest he overtake us suddenly, and bring evil upon us, and smite the city with the edge of the sword.

Et David dit à tous ses serviteurs qui étaient avec lui à Jérusalem: Levez-vous et fuyons, car nous ne saurions échapper à Absalom. Hâtez-vous de partir, de peur qu'il ne se hâte, qu'il ne nous atteigne, qu'il ne précipite le mal sur nous, et ne fasse passer la ville au fil de l'épée.

And David saith to all his servants who are with him in Jerusalem, 'Rise, and we flee, for we have no escape from the face of Absalom; haste to go, lest he hasten, and have overtaken us, and forced on us evil, and smitten the city by the mouth of the sword.'
