Nadavla Avihu Sina Çölünde RABbin önünde kurallara aykırı bir ateş sunarken öldüler. Oğulları yoktu. Elazarla İtamar babaları Harunun yanında kâhinlik ettiler. Tanrıya kurban sunmak gibi dinsel işlerle uğraşan görevli. Kâhinin büyücülük, falcılık, sihirbazlık, gaipten haber vermek gibi işlerle uğraşması söz konusu değildi. Bu uygulamalar Yas.18:9-14 ayetlerinde yasaklanmıştır.
