"Sürüyü satın alanlar koyunları kesiyor ama cezalarını çekmiyorlar. Koyunları satanlar da, 'Tanrıya övgüler olsun, zengin oldum!' diyorlar. Çobanlar kendi sürülerine acımıyor.

Whose possessors slay them, and hold themselves not guilty: and they that sell them say, Blessed be the LORD; for I am rich: and their own shepherds pity them not.

Çünkü ülkede yaşayan halka artık acımayacağım" diyor RAB, "Herkesi kendi komşusunun ve kralının eline teslim edeceğim. Ülkeyi ezecekler, ben de halkı ellerinden kurtarmayacağım."

Bunun üzerine kesime ayrılmış sürünün özellikle ezilenlerini güttüm. Elime iki değnek aldım; birine "Lütuf", ötekine "Birlik" adını koydum. Böylece sürüyü gütmeye başladım.
